Class will begin each week with a warm-up activity: the teacher will present a partial sentence and will go around the classroom asking each student (one-by-one) to complete the sentence as he/she so chooses. Remaining class time each week will be based on current news stories or on reading passages. 7 weeks of the course will be based on Breaking News English, an internet ESL news site; 6 weeks of the course will be based on readings and exercises from the book Reading Pass 2 and 3. Activities will follow a regular format of vocabulary discussion, small-group opinion sharing, and whole class discussion.
