Class will begin each week with a warm-up activity: the teacher will present a partial sentence and will go around the classroom asking each student (one-by-one) to complete the sentence as he/she so chooses. Following this warm-up, one student will give a 3-minute speech. This student will have volunteered the week previously to do so. The majority of class time each week will be spent on lessons from 3 different texts: 4 weeks from the book More True Stories; 4 weeks from readings and exercises from the book Reading Pass 3; and 4 weeks from a textbook that incorporates speeches from the internet, called Keynote. Emphasis will be on vocabulary and phrase building, grammar, and culture.
