概要
Come join us in watching presentations about "ideas worth sharing"(TED Talks), learn relevant vocabulary, and read and discuss the gist of each presentation. When telling a speaking partner about a TED Talk, rather than referring to notes, participants will use simple drawings of 6 to 8 main points of the talk as memory aids. Looking at these sketches, participants will tell a speaking partner about the presentation from his/her illustrations. Speaking partners will change regularly. Class members will also bring presentation-related information to share with classmates. Past topics have included: an explanation of the honey bee crisis, a Muslim engineer's experience of 9/11, India's volunteer clean-up campaign, an introduction to Wikihouse open source construction kits and an argument for the importance of using women's cells when conducting pharmaceutical research.
This class is conducted entirely in English.
